    Recruit To Keep In Mind..

Cole Netten, kicker at Ankeny High School. Generated a lot of attention on this board and is now starting to rack up some intrest. The OL Coach from Iowa was at Ankeny recruting Netten. Alabama has also requested to videotape Netten's games this upcoming season.

    Your wrong.

People think this because DMac never offered an Ankeny kicker a scholly, so none of their kickers went to ISU. That recruiting strategy cost DMac his job at ISU in the end.

I had just heard he was tight with the staff out East.

    No matter...let's get 'em.

Well that I agree with. More than a few from his program have landed at Iowa. Of course the same could be said about ISU.

I believe the Ankeny kicking coach is a big fan of the Iowa staff. The head coach I'm not sure of as Ankeny has sent kids to both programs.

The coach was also taking a look at Cory Myers. Cole is a Cyclone fan, Rameh (kicking coach) is close to the Iowa staff, CPR played for Pezzetti.

If CPR comes calling, Cole will be interested, and Pezzetti won't sway him one way or another.

Also plenty of coaches on the Ankeny staff like ISU. The d-line coach likes ISU because Jensen got an opportunity and the TE coach played for Earl Bruce.

Ankeny's kicking coach came and helped Mahoney for a day in Rhoad's first year.

Those Ankeny kickers never amount to anything. (kidding) I'm sure Danny Mac offered Kaeding.

I have seen the Ankeny Kicking coach at several ISU games over the last few years.

He needs to do it again. The ball still does not go down the middle through the posts. Every kick the crowd is leaning to curve it back down the middle. Kicking has been an experiment - how close you can come to missing extra points.

I'd reckon that we probably won't offer a kicker until we get one in camp, same as VDK, unless we're really confident about them.

Both are correct. Ankeny kicking coach is a huge Hawk fan and season ticket holder, but he's also a college football fan and has attended several ISU games when Iowa is on the road. His girlfriend is an Ames High grad and she does get him to ISU for games whenever possible.

In General, both ISU and Iowa have had players from Ankeny over the years.
