    Henton OR Ashaolu

I know there has been a TON of talk about both of these guys but who would you rather see Fred and company sign for next year?

Henton- Prep. 4 years to play.
Decent late pickup but not a high profile recruit. (could turn into a very solid player though)
    OR
Ashaolu- Transfer Junior. 1 year to play BUT could play immediately
Could be a game changer- Big time athlete

There is always the talk of transfer vs prep but with FH in his first few year of his tenure which would be the better choice for right now?

Really tough choice but in the end I voted for LaDontae Henton. I love his size and versatility.

I love the idea of a solid 4 year player.

No either/whichever one commits first option? This poll stinks.

I disagree with your analysis. It is a toss-up on which is a bigger pick-up or game changer. Pretty similar athletes as well.

    Re: Henton OR Ashaolu

I picked Ashaolu. Not that I like him all that much, but I'd just rather have that scholarship available for 2012. Actually, if it came down to bank it or Henton, I'd rather bank it because I like Okoro, Niang, Cook, Lee, Gessell and Abrahamsson better than Henton and he would be taking a spot away from one of those guys.

Neither. Ashaolu doesn't add much to the team for next year and is IMO a big risk in terms of team chemistry. He's made it pretty clear that he wants to play on the wing and score a lot so that he has a chance at the NBA. I'm comfortable with what we have coming back on the wings, and don't think he's head and shoulders above what we have on board in the post.

Henton would be okay, but I think we could do better in 2012. Elgin Cook, Okoro, Webster-Chan, Gesell, etc. all look like better pure wings to my uneducated eye.

Why? Have you seen better than the film below? 23 in blue (against a team with a 6-5 MSU commit)...

My eye is also uneducated, but I am going to assume the staff has more info. Apparently, Henton would be just as good of a get, plus the risk aspect of banking a ship for players that have showed less interest in ISU. His film looks just as good as the highlight tape of the others- but it is hard to truly judge from such little evidence.
Do Gessell and Cook have offers?

I don't understand the fascination with Cook. He is a really athletic wing. I get it. But I feel like we can do better at this point in time. Maybe an athletic wing with some perimeter skills would be nice. Insert Henson or Abrahamson.

Henton because he would have four years (although he might not stay all four)

Bring in athletes let Hoiberg work on their perimeter skills. Cook's athleticism has a ton of potential to thrive in our current system.

This just screams Eric McKnight to me. I don't want a guy that we need to develop. I want a guy that already has the total package and that Fred can mold into an elite player. Cook doesn't seem like he has the potential to be an elite player. I see Cook as another Rahshon Clark at best, and I feel like we can do better than that at this point in time.

Speaking of McKnight, where did he end up transferring to?
