    New fullback...

I noticed in the DM Rag the starting lineup for tonights game and noticed Derrick Catlett is the starting fullback, and he's listed at 6'4 241 lbs... this kid seems to have some decent size for that position and if I recall he was originally recruited as a tight end.. has anyone heard out of practice how he is developing? will he become the next human battering ram and open up things for scales/bass/robinson?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

I think the coaching staff said that they were really impressed with him at the FB position, so I gather that it's a pretty good move.

Plus, it will give us another receiving threat on the field. I remember from the '06 spring game - Catlett had some nice grabs at tight end.

    Re: New fullback...

From what I have heard and saw in scrimmage don't expect a lot of traditional fullback formations. Not that Catlett won't be on the field, just not often in the battering ram role or formation.

Right. I get the feeling from talking to a few folks, it is really an H-back position now and we'll be seeing some interesting things done with that player this year. Probably not right away, but as the season grows on.

Some of what we're seeing in the NFL.

it was a bit wierd to watch the replay of the '93 opener on cyclones.com last night and see that kind of offense... thank GOD ISU doesn't use that anymore.... I went to the Navy-Air Force game last year and both teams run the I, power I, or triple option... about fell asleep midway thru the second quarter.

For some reason I have visons or nightmares of Senaca running the option to the short side of the feild against 'skers back when they ran the option still.
