Holy cow.....way to flush your opportunities down the toilet, fellas. Guessing they'll have a problem getting into any level of program now, and deservedly so.

What are you talking about? If he's that good, they'll still take him.

They'll just dock his pay to match the amount of stuff he stole and call it good.

Exactly. Well, Georgia probably can't afford to take him at this point, but he's still likely playing in the SEC.

Wouldn't doubt that for a second. I mean, no precedent was set at all with Cam Newton and his laptop...

I would expect the players who were stole from would welcome him to the team with closed fists!!!!

Re: Recruit Rips-Off Locker Room on Visit

honestly though, as casual as teens are these days with their stuff, it probably wasn't that hard a take. The boys at my gym leave their lockers open, their phones, MP3 players on the bench; heck, its not uncommon for me to see their wallets out in the open. When there is large groups playing pick up, I see dozens of electronics just sitting over in a corner, no one paying a heap of sense. To my knowledge my gym hasn't had any problems, but seriously, kids need to take better care of their stuff.

Big difference between having stuff stolen from a Division I Football Locker Room and a high school gym.

Re: Recruit Rips-Off Locker Room on Visit

This is the SEC we are talking about...

You think those players care if they get their Iphone or MP3 player stolen? They get bags of cash, cash handshakes after games, cars, etc.... Those items would be replaced by "friends of the program" before the end of the day. The only failure in this story was the failure of the Georgia boosters. Why in the hell was this top notch recruit put in the position to feel like he needed to steal this stuff in the first place? If they had done their job for the program they would have already taken care of any of his needs for cash, clothes, electronics, etc....

Obviously this is why Georgia has stunk it up in the SEC the past few seasons.

Not really, it's still taking stuff that does not belong to you.

I think his point was there is a difference in leaving things out in a private locker room at a D-1 School and leaving stuff out at the rec. I.e., the UGA football players were not being careless in leaving there stuff out in what was presumably a secure area.

Yea, I wasn't saying it was alright to steal, pointing out there is a difference in location and a secure area.

I realize you don't think it's ok to steal, but my point was that a D1 locker room, HS gym, someone's car...it's all theft no matter where it is.

The only difference would be that you should be able to find the people quicker that steal from a D1 locker room because the list of potential suspects would be a lot smaller.
