Anybody hear Rhoads on KXNO today?

Wondered if someone could post summary. Cyreport says "Rhoads just bit a chunk outta KXNO's Butt"

I didn't get chance to hear, I think he was on at 730am

It wasn't as bad as the post title suggests. CPR said he mentioned during post scrimmage interviews that he said Jantz had one of the best passes he's ever seen in college football into the wind for a TD, but said KXNO apparently didn't play that part and only played a criticism (never said what the criticism was) of Jantz. He asked them if they had a problem with their digital recording during that segment.

Sounds like about as close to biting their butts as you are likely to get from a coach like CPR in and on the media.

    Nice work, Coach!

That sounds like he did rip KXNO. This only makes me love Rhoads more. Stands up for his players and has their back. I would take Rhoads over any coach in college football any day.

T&T are lame, Murph and Andy are the only local talent I enjoy listening to and wouldn't consider their show sports related.

Re: Anybody hear Rhoads on KXNO today?

They had a sound bite from the post-game presser in which coach said something about Jantz rolling left and throwing right, into the wind, and it was a horrible ball. He almost walked up to Jantz after that and told him not to throw deep into the wind anymore but decided not to. That's where the KXNO bit stopped. The next statement Rhoads made in the presser was how two plays later Jantz made that perfect deep pass to Horne for a TD into the wind, but that part didn't make it into the KXNO bit.

Rhoads said he was upset about how the quote was used, and that he imagined Cyclone Nation and anyone who attended the game was upset about it too.

I missed the interview but heard the sound byte KXNO played - it was Rhoads saying that Jantz made a terrible pass into the wind and that he had considered pulling Jantz out of the game at that point.

The sound byte they played immediately before was of James Vandenberg commenting on being named the starter at Iowa. Kind of gave the impression that Iowa has all their ducks in a row and ISU is a mess.

I just listened to the podcast of the show and I never heard him say all that. Part of it, yeah, but I never heard what the criticism of Jantz was that got on the air.

They played it in the first hour. I'm doubting it made the podcast as it was during the news segment that they do during commercial breaks.

Yep, part of the news and not part of the interview.

T&T are just bored, they probably stirred it up to get ratings.

Re: Anybody hear Rhoads on KXNO today?

I turned on KXNO this AM just to hear if there was any spring ball talk, and caught about 5 minutes of the interview. One of the best parts was them talking about playing the Spring Game against other schools. Rhoads loved the idea, and thought it would be greatly beneficial for the program. He then went on to talk about how most of the other sports get this kind of opportunity.

Can you imagine what kind of money make that would be if schools played an actual spring exhibition game against each other? You would obviously play someone not on your regular schedule, and set up rules about 1s v. 1s, 2s v 2s, etc, like an NFL exhibition game. You'd have all summer to lick any wounds.

I think its a great idea, but like Coach said, the NCAA would never go for it.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
