    BASKETBALL RECRUITING: Texas A&M offers Okoro

    Just spoke to 2012 Iowa State MBB target Nkereuwem Okoro. He told me that Texas A&M jumped in the mix and offered him last week.

    Okoro now holds offers from Iowa State, Arizona, Texas A&M and Seton Hall among other schools that he isn't considering.

    He is still high on Pitt, who hasn't offered yet.

    Nice to know our recruits are sought after. I hope we can come out firing this season. I think we have a good chance to jump A/M this year, and that can only help.

    They play freaking fugly grind-it-out basketball. That's not what we have planned for our style.

    that is Big East country and most of those kids end up being a fan of one of those schools. His high school coach, Oliver Antigua is a Pitt alum. Antigua's brother, Orlando also a Pitt alum is Calipari's asst coach at Kentucky.

    Right now spring AAU is going on most every weekend, coaches can not go to these events, they can go and watch the recruits/teams work out/practice in their high school gyms. I am not sure if a guy like Cornell Mann is still under contract with Dayton or if unemployed can go and watch these events. this can be a perk in delaying hiring a new asst, they are not subject to NCAA rules.

    July AAU is where coaches can get out and watch these games, you want a full staff by then.
