What Does Fox B12 Deal Mean for TV?

OK, here is Bebe's official comments link:
Big 12 and Fox Sports Media Group Announce Landmark Agreement - Big 12 Conference - Official Athletic Site

In it he says all big 12 controlled football games will be televised, but then there's a lot of other details that make this a very murky statement.

    Bottom Line Questions

    1. How many football games will ISU see on TV in 2012?
    2. Will ISU have a platform for FB replays 72 hours after FOX broadcasts even available anywhere to watch (likely a B12 Network deal FOX is also working on Q)?
    3. Since "All Home B12 conference controlled games" are "guaranteed" to be on TV, does this mean all will be on FOX?
    4. What happens to all the Away Games?

    1. Unless I'm mistaken at least all conference games will be on television, non-conf will depend on who has the rights to the game.
    2. Don't know
    3. No this means they will be on Fox Sports Networks(Midwest or North for these parts) or FX as said here:
Many of the telecasts will be distributed on FSN, which reaches over 85 million homes through two dozen owned and affiliated networks. Several other games will also be scheduled on FX, one of the most-watched cable networks in the country, now available in more than 99 million households, as part of its recently announced new college football game of the week.

Re: What Does Fox B12 Deal Mean for TV?

    1. Probably all of them.

    2. It means ISU can webstream games on a delayed basis.

    3. This agreement is added to the 18 games that ABC already gets.

    4. Away non-conference games will continue to fall under the contract of the home team's conference. Standard procedure.

So bottom line is more FB on TV, maybe a few mid-major or FCS (Div II) games not on....but maybe, maybe ALL games on tv.

Re: What Does Fox B12 Deal Mean for TV?

It means that they'll try everything to make sure we are the only team that will ever have to play on FCS, while everyone else got a national bump. I hope that I'll be able to see games while in DC, but because of the number of ways Fox networks are divided, I don't see how
it is much better than where we were, nationally speaking. Extra money is good, obviously, but how is it divided? Granted I don't understand the whole maze of implications from the TV contract, but I don't see how it is that different, aside
    from money.

This. Mediacom subscribers, be sure to order your Sports Pak for the football season or you'll probably only see half of our games. Everyone is getting stoked for this "deal" but they'll find a way to hose us. We'll get a bump in revenue but it isn't likely to translate into increased visibility for recruiting.

Well considering TV picks depend on performance as much as anything, we can kind of control this on the field.

That's what we've been saying for the last decade or so.

And when we've played well we've gotten on TV. Now that our odds of being on TV are vastly improved, I think we'll be just fine. If we're going 2-10 do we really deserve it? It won't even matter anymore because at (god forbid) 2-10, we'll still be on TV somewhere that it really won't be that hard for our fans to watch.

I think just the opposite. Yeah, some of the Baylor vs. Iowa State games will likely be on FCS, but at least they'll be televised whereas past BU-ISU games weren't even televised at all. And ALL of our home non-conference games will be televised so there's going to be a huge increase in television appearances. This should give ISU a big advantage over all the non-BCS teams in terms of recruiting.
