Without a doubt, the dumbest, most offensive sports column ever written

So I stumbled across the link I'm posting below through the Sports Illustrated website, specifically the "Hot Clicks" section.

You've probably all heard about the San Francisco Giants fan who was beaten to within an inch of his life by a couple of wastes of oxygen posing as Dodgers fans last week. Well, this "journalist" essentially blames the victim for having the audacity to wear a Giants jersey to the game.

Not only is he just plain insensitive and tone-deaf, but his writing is awful. It looks like the work of a 7th grader.

And another pot shot....nice mustache *********! You look like a washed-up 80's porn star.

Lol he had to stop the comments. But read the comments. They eviscerate this guy, and that is why he stopped them.

About as bad as the Canadian cop who blames women who get sexually assaulted on how provocatively they dress.

This doesn't even deserve a face palm. This is just appalling. Maybe, maybe, if there was evidence that Stow was picking a fight or something, you could argue that he was partly at fault for what happened. However everything seems to indicate that Stow and his buddies were trying to avoid a confrontation when they were jumped.

Blaming the victim for being a fan of his team and wearing his team's gear to a game is just plain stupid. Goes against being a fan in general.

I hope this guy gets fired and worse. You can wear your 'colors' to any place your team plays and not worry about this ********!

Re: Without a doubt, the dumbest, most offensive sports column ever written

    This comment cracked me up:

I went to a high school baseball game the other day. One of the visiting player's mother was wearing her son's home jersey. I went over to her and as I puched her in the back of the head screamed, "unless you put that on in the locker room, you're not part of the team and nothing more than a spectator". I rule.
Of course, he was mocking the author of that ****-poor excuse for a sports column. "hack" doesn't even do this guy justice.

    This guy takes the cake.

    Define irony....

The guy writes an article blaming the victim of a horrible crime for bringing it on himself.

Then he makes an appearance playing the role of a victim when there is a public outcry over the article he wrote.

Wait.... didn't this loser bring this public onslaught on himself for writing an article that might just go down as one of the worst articles in the history of journalism?

Maybe he should follow his own feelings on the topic at hand and quit writing all together.... What an idiot.

Sadly, this guy will probably get a raise for all the page views he's brought to his paper's website.

This is nothing new: anyone can write. Write a controversial and offensive (as long as you don't offend any religion or race), the page will get high traffic.
The advice is: don't give these people any of your time.
