    Wisconsin set to hire Green Bay's Bollant

    According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, an announcement will come this week:

    "Bollant appears the front-runner to replace Lisa Stone, who was fired last month after eight seasons and one NCAA tournament appearance. Sources say he will accept the job if offered."

    If he'll accept the job if offered, Wisconsin would be stupid not to hire him. With their reported salary ceiling, I don't see how there could be a better option for them.

    It will be interesting to see what Wisky does with their salary here. Washington had paid Tia Jackson $280,000, but had to offer Kevin McGuff $475,000 plus incentives to lure him away. That's what the market is for a sitting head women's bb coach.
    Alvarez has to do the same thing, IMO. But keep in mind the Badgers have a hugely successful men's hockey program, making a profit and generating a whopping $3.2 million in ticket sales; women's bb generated just $185,000. How do you justify paying Bollant more that the hockey coach, which he almost surely will?
