800 HP Mustang on the Way

An 800-horsepower version of the Ford Mustang will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show later this month.
The 2012 Shelby GT500 Super Snake will be built by Shelby American Inc., a Las Vegas-based performance car company. Shelby works with Ford Motor Co. (F, Fortune 500) to create various high-performance versions of the iconic Mustang.

While the base Super Snake will produce a mere 750 horsepower, those who feel the need for more power will be able to add an optional upgrade package that will provide 50 more. Shelby provides no warranty on the engine and transmission, in either case.

it don't take 800 HP to drive 70 on the interstate. Seems like there should be cheaper ways to say you have a small ****

True. That said, it's still a beautiful car.

but what if you wanna go 75?

i think at around $100k they don't expect someone to use this as their everyday car.

Awesome looking car, and those that buy it won't care if gas is $4.00+ per gallon.

    I want it

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: 800 HP Mustang on the Way

I'll be picking up a 2011 Mustang Coupe in a couple of days. I'll will only be a V-6 with an six-speed automatic (concessions to the wife) but with 305 HP it should work for me. It'll have the Shaker 500 entertainment system with HD and satellite radio through eight speakers, Sync, voice-activated navigation system, cooled and heated seats, and rear-view camera. It will have Red Candy Metallic paint and Saddle colored leather seats (as close to cardinal and gold as I could get).

My grandkids are still small enough to fit in the back and with this car I won't be able to handle their parents. Too bad,

It's coming just in time for Spring and Summer. I wish all of you could have one too.

Exactly... unless you own your own closed course or runway, there is absolutely no reason to even consider purchasing this vehicle unless your name is Jeff Gordan.

It's amazing that they are putting out 300 horsepower in their lowest powered mustang. I remember not to long ago the 5.0 V8 was the hottest thing around and it had less than 250.
