What good is the close button...

What good is a close button for the advertising at the bottom of the screen if it continues to pop back up after you elect to close it?

Go down to the bottom and select "bottom bar" instead of default

Yeah, I just saw that in the other thread - shouldn't it actually be called "get rid of bottom bar" or something of the like? You would think selecting the "bottom bar" option would be for those that actually wanted it...

Agreed. The moving ads are bad enough, that bar is just ridiculous.

    Thank You!!!!!

The ad itself wasn't so bothersome as the fact that is slowed my page down. Even scrolling up and down was delayed. With that ad gone, back to normal.

Re: What good is the close button...

God forbid there is a relatively unobtrusive ad at the bottom of a FREE TO USE FORUM...

If it's really slowing things down for you, get AdBlock. You can block it out.

Re: What good is the close button...

by my count, there are 13 ads on this page, I guess I can deal. The only thing that would be really bad is if there was an ad after the first post of every page in a thread like on HN or the Shag. that stuff is annoying.
