    Blackberry apps

Just curious- I've loaded two applications onto my Blackberry, the first one a game, and the second was a QR scanner. Immediately upon making both active, my phone battery started dying quickly, so I've deleted both (they were installed and then deleted on separate occasions, so they weren't on the phone at the same time).

Anyone else experience this? Is it a problem with individual apps, or just par for the course?

Some apps are written better than others, a poorly coded one could use up a lot of CPU and drain your battery faster.

You probably never closed out of the app. Hold the button to the left of the track ball and a menu will pop up with what apps/programs are currently running. You have to physically exit some apps, not just back out of them.

I'll have to check that if I ever load up another one.

    Re: Blackberry apps

Get a app called quick pull... It will restart your phone every day. You can pick the time... I usually set mine for 4am... It will help make sure your programs are turned off...

    Re: Blackberry apps

The app was likely poorly written and you never actually closed out of the program (it was running in the background).

Yeah, the battery life will then be horrid to begin with (just like iPhone), so he won't have anything to worry about.

Sorry, had to get my smartphone war attack in for the day.

I'm an Android fan but battery life is the last thing I'd argue as a reason to switch.

Well, I don't know what phone you have/owned, but my battery is almost the same as my previous BB. I owned the BB Curve and Tour and now own the Samsung Mesmerize and see almost no difference. But, thats just me. I have found that not syncing everything all the time helps with the Android.

Android has twice as much to offer than BB, thats why I switched.

Yeah, actually being able to do things on a Droid will drain the battery. It's a side effect of having more possibilities.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.
