    2011-12 Kansas

Saw a tweet stating the both Morris twins are expected to sign with an agent in the next couple days... May not be that big of news...

Also, KU's recruiting class for this fall has been one guy - PG Nadir Tharpe (which we were recruiting as well). Another recent tweet states that Ben McLemore is planning to commit shortly. McLemore is a highly regarded SG/ SF. (ESPN rating of 95)

Finally, I was looking at the last few recruiting class rankings - KU was outside the top ten. The previous 2 years before, they were in the top 5 (ish). Is it me, or are they falling off a bit? Now I don't expect them to be bad, but at this point, I am thinking Texas is the way to early team to beat next year.

I think KU will have a rough year next year regardless of recruiting. Not terrible, but not as good as this year with a few more head scratching losses.

If there's one universal truth as it pertains to Big 12 basketball, it's don't ever count out KU.

A nucleus of Robinson, Taylor, Selby (who I think will come back) and developing bench players in Withey, Releford & Elijah Johnson will have KU once again hovering around the top of the league.

I do not understand how you can say a team is falling off after once again earning a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Without the Morris twins, I expect 1 win over Kansas next year.

    Re: 2011-12 Kansas

This happens so many times where people don't think that Kansas will be any good after losing their best players or almost their whole team to the NBA, and the next season they are always good. Im sure next season they will still finish as one of the top two teams in the conference, and at worst finish third.

they will be ok again. He could sign as many as 5 he says and he has a couple on the usual "string" that are suppose to be Top 100 kids at least. I am sure he will probably grab one juco (which he does when he loses 3 or more starters it seems) to help out. He has pretty much moved his recruiting base to the East with all of the rough kids he gets so look that direction again.

Lots of talk of Robinson and Selby declaring as well. If they don't they will still be pretty good.

for the record Whitey is worthless KU people despise him.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

We will not count them out, but they will be down. Their guards are not special.

    Re: 2011-12 Kansas

The same could post could have been made last year when Kansas lost Aldrich and Collins. Who knew the Morris twins were such beasts? Remember how Brackins used to school those guys?

I'm sure they will have some players step up next year and play lights out. Robinson looks like a promising player and an injury free Selby is going to play a lot better. If Thomas can develop a jump shot he will also be a tough player. I expact Kansas to be near the top of the conference and a 1-2 seed in next year's tourny.

That beings said...I hope I am wrong!

Kansas might have a down year next year. Meaning, they will finish 2nd in conference and earn a #2 seed in the tourney.

This is exactly what I mean.

I did not say they will be bad... Just not the KU that we are accustomed to seeing.

Texas has a good nucleus of young players, and a phenomenal incoming class. That's why I think they'll be better.

    Re: 2011-12 Kansas

If bot the Morris twins leave they will really be hurting next year.
    Morris
    Morris
    Reed
    Morningstar
    Little
    Robinson (maybe)
Taylor (has had feuds with Self the past two years so this is a possibility)
    Shelby (maybe)

Thats potentially 8 new guys they have to bring in next year. I know they will be 8 top 100 kids practically but they will definately be down next year.

Who cares? I say we beat em three times next year. Twice in the regular season and once in the conference championship! Doesnt that sound nice?

    Re: 2011-12 Kansas

Depends on what UT and MU lose, but KU could fall to 2nd place.
I bet Shelby and Robinson stay.

Taylor, Johnson, Selby, Robinson, Whitey is a good starting 5, plus a few of the newcomers and reserves may push a few of these guys to the bench.
