    No Hitter

Just got on here to post about a active no-hitter vs the Rays. Chris Tillman hadn't allowed a hit trough 6 IP but was pulled. Still an active team no-hitter, but those are lame.

    Re: No Hitter

He was at 101 pitches, so it wasn't likely that he would have been able to keep the no hitter or go the distance anyway. Still interesting that they pulled him I thought.

He's just 22 years old, so I can't blame them for wanting to protect his arm. At 101, that's a good point to shut it down. A no-hitter isn't worth risking injury.

I 100% agree that it was the right move. I just selfishly wanted to watch it and had just changed the channel to the game when they pulled him.

Wimp. Livan Hernandez would have gone 140 pitches.

    Re: No Hitter

Didn't somebody throw like 140-150 pitches last year in a no-hitter or attempted no-hitter?

Edwin Jackson for Arizona. Went on the DL less than a month later if memory serves. Then he was traded to the White Sox.

This. And yes, Jackson did get the no-no. Everybody was having a good laugh because the Rays were victims of both Jackson's no hitter and Dallas Braden's perfect game within just a month.
