Put your TV on mute and use this.

I don't understand why for big games like this CBS, or whomever owns the broadcast rights, doesn't offer a pay-per-view with different announcers. You can't tell me they wouldn't be able to at least cover Gus' travel cost and fee with a $9.99 channel for me to choose to listen to him call the game.

Kellogg's voice alone makes me want to put this on mute.

Because they would need the broadcast rights?

No kidding. I would pay 10 bucks to watch this with different announcers.

They aren't going to dump their ace team for Gus just yet. He is the hot item, and I'd prefer him as an announcer, but I get it.

In response to swarthmoreCY - CBS owns the broadcast rights for the Final 4. They could choose to offer the game on truTV with Gus, TBS with Rafftery, and TNT with Barkley if they were so inclined. I'm pretty sure they could also set it up (or at least write it into the contract) to be able to sell a pay-per-view channel the would accomplish the same thing.

As long as he isn't doing his OVER THE TOP yelling. Can't stand it when he's yelling when there's (for instance) an and one when one team is up by 10 or more.

    Oh wait, that's never.

    Other variables than that though.
-Advertisers who paid for their ad to be aired on CBS, not getting their money's worth
-Extra equipment and people for that equipment to set up a second audio feed for the final 4 (and travel\hotels for those people)
-Decreased ratings for CBS from those switching, having an effect on what they can sell future ads for.

True, which is why it would be dumb for them to air it on CBS & TNT. But with a pay-per-view option, you could air the exact same commercials and just add the ratings together. Also, they could put Gus on CBS standard definition if they really wanted to give that to us for free and still not worry about the commercials.

As for the extra costs, I seriously doubt that would be a large enough factor - but I admittedly don't know how much it would cost to set it up.

Nance is a good PxP announcer in my book, but I am surprised his ego fit into Reliant Stadium. This is his only 7-8th game this year. He didn't do any regular season games and just did his first one during the Big 10 tournament.

Kellogg I just can't stand! The dude is for sure Mr. Obvious!

There is a good reason why he doesn't do many regular season games, it's called the NFL. People give Nantz too much grief. Yes, Gus is a bag of awesome but is good too. Their styles are just really different.
