don't think we really went after him that hard this time around. would have been a nice addition, but being the ssame class as knott and ak47, not that large of a need.

i hate 4 star jucos btw.

Disagree here. Outside of those two we have no one who is proven when MT graduates. Without Boyd in this class with Miller and Smith, I think we could have used Jackson.

I don't know...maybe if they would have known that Boyd was going to back out, they would have went after him, but I doubt it. Is he really better than Taufoou and George at MLB? And even if he is, they're stuck with three starters in the same class. George and Miller are going to be more experienced in 2012 than they are now. Not to mention, I'd bet that they'll end up moving Klein to MLB his SR year and starting someone like Bennett at SAM. If they're really concerned about depth for 2012, they can always go for a JUCO in this coming recruiting class.

Jackson would have been great to have out of HS. He could have developed under Rhoads. He would be playing the SAM, Klein would be in the middle, and with Knott, you would have in my mind the best core of LBs in the Big 12 next year. Not having Jackson hurts our team, there is no doubt.

He's probably not as good as MT right now but I am holding off on JG for the time being anyway. You're right we will have options in 12' but I wouldn't mind having someone else in there.

Yeah, great call. I'd bet we've had a greater success rate with 2-star Jucos.

not sure if you're serious, but i was. our history with 4 star guys in general hasn't been real great.

Austin Flynn was a 4 star and I think he turned out quite nice. Granted he was a 4 star QB, and not a WR, I still think he had a great career. Your right though, it seems like the very few 4 stars ISU gets, they never pan out.

4-star ratings for JuCo's are seemingly random, but has our 4-star high school hit rate been worse than it has for 3 and 2-stars?

austin flynn was a hs recruit. my original post was directed at jucos. we haven't had a great deal of luck with 4 star jucos. is money the best one we've got?

not that we've had a whole lot i guess.
