Former Duke star Laettner seeks new job

Ex-Duke star Christian Laettner is searching for a coaching gig - The Dagger - NCAAB*Blog - Yahoo! Sports

He wants to be an assistant coach somewhere. We have an opening for an assistant. Would you take a chance on him?

I'm not sayin I would. I couldn't stand the guy when he played so I'd have a hard time welcoming him to Cyclone Country but I thought it was at least interesting to consider.

Based on name recognition alone, hell yes. Fred has the open spot, and they are t-Wolf brothers, so go get him!

I couldn't stand him either, but I would be more than ok with it. He was a pretty damn good low post player. Very good positioning. Look what Manning does in that capacity for Kansas.

One of the greatest college basketball players of all time, and one of the biggest ****** of all time too.

Did give one of the best locker room pep talks ever when he was with the Timberwolves though.

Re: Former Duke star Laettner seeks new job

Interesting article. I would question is ability to be an "assistant" to anybody with his huge ego. That said, I did like him as a player and found him fun to watch on the court.

Of the 12 Dream Team McDonalds cups, I bought 11 of them as a child. That is all I have to say about Laettner.
