I hate Kansas but at least they are constantly in a position to "choke".

I'm not sure which would be worse, choking at dinner or never even being invited to the table?

Agree to a point. But when a team that consistently gets top talent get to the NCAA's its no big thing. Its expected. Losing to "lower" talent pools is not.

Maybe Self will get a job at a school that it takes even less ability to be successful at a la Royboy. If you recruit the way KU does theres no excuse for almost always coming up short of expectations. Memphis's free throw woes were the only reason KU lived up their expectations the year they won it all.

I agree in theory. There has been a ton of discussion about this with the recent runs by 'mid-majors' in the tourney.

So the top talent goes to the bigger more prestigious schools. The problem is that these more talented kids are leaving after 1-2 years. This creates a ‘leveling’ effect to some degree. The talent potential discrepancy is large (maybe not in all cases but in general) but the fact that you have a team of Fr & So with lots of talent vs a team of JR & SR (maybe even some redshirts) with slightly less talent but more experience and understanding of their system, the outcomes in recent years suggest that the potential for the less talented JR & SR’s is there to upset the more talented but younger team.

If the NBA moved the age requirement to similar to the NFL I think you would see less parity in the tourney. There would still be some, but those superior players would be forced to stay for at least two more years and they would just continue to dominate and they smaller schools would have less of an advantage in experience.

I personally love the fact that this happens because it makes the tournament more interesting.
