    I'll admit it. I laughed.

    Re: Steve Alford Mizzou Rumor

He probably just wants to get back at the mayor for beating him in the free throw contest.

I like this hire. But, if I were a Mizzou fan, I'd be a little upset.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

If games go to OT instead of playing the extra minutes we could just settle them with a coach FT contest.

    Re: Steve Alford Mizzou Rumor

Why Iowa ever got rid of him, I do not know. Apparently going above .500 in the Big Ten wasn't good enough for Hawk fans.

I oddly like this hire, he's a really good coach. He has had problems with Black and Shades of yellow before though...

He's not a really good coach. He is an ok coach who has a really solid assistant in Craig Neal helping him out.

I also don't think there is any way he goes to Mizzou. He is only leaving NM for 1 job

He's got a little bit of slime ball Coach Cal in him (both of them) but I don't mind that as much as I should. He tends to put some of his losses on his players in front of the media when sometimes he can be at fault too and not admit it.

7,000 is a stretch at Mizzou...

I think he knows that ship has sailed (Indiana) they have had at least two chances to hire him and didn't. Alford will jump at the chance to coach in a major conference. New Mexico is just a stepping stone for him, he will leave that school in the dust. In all honesty he left Iowa because he knew he was going to get canned, the writing was on the wall.
