This is kind of interesting - KU/USC

A Southern California home basketball game in Wichita? Against Kansas? Yup, you read that right. | Campus Corner

Basically, KU owes USC a road game next season. USC is considering not having this game at their home arena, but at a new arena in Wichita, KS (think Wells Fargo), because they control the gate money for the game no matter where it is played, and presumably think they would make more in Wichita. So KU's lone non-conference road game could be moved just down I-35 to what would obviously be a pro-KU crowd.

I've never heard of something like this before. I thought it was interesting.

I guess if you're going to lose you may as well make money doing it.

Somewhat similiar although in a different sport but Indiana moved its home game against Penn St to FedEx Field in Washington D.C. this year for $3M.

I can get how some schools would do something like this, but USC is a big budget program, they don't need the extra cash.

Ummmmmmm, K.C. has a lot of Cyclone fans/alums and isn't a far drive from Ames/Des Moines. USC is basically giving KU a home game for money. Totally different scenarios

Los Angelos is 1,400 miles away from Wichita, and Lawrence is 170 miles.

Manhattan, KS in 120 miles away from KC, Ames is 230 Miles. I guess if we moved the game to Cameron, MO, that would have been a more central location

The breakdown of fans at the two Arrowhead games was pretty close to 50/50. And of course there were two games, so each school gave up one home game.

In this case, KU had a home game in Lawrence, while USC is choosing to play their home game in Wichita, half way across the country in front of a crowd that will likely be 99% KU fans.

This is totally apples and oranges.

Um Kansas City is a lot different from going as far as USC would go to Witchita and Indiana going to D.C. But don't let common sense get in the way.

And don't forget alumni fan bases for both schools in KC.

Yeah I saw his comment and was like are you serious? How can you compare the two?

A comparison would fit if JP went and moved our home game with Texas in football to Jerry World or the Alamodome
