    Ram it home?

So does this morning's news regarding Pres. Geoffrey add an even greater sense of urgency for getting the south endzone project underway? Do JP and Geoffrey team up (not that they haven't already) to make an even stronger push to get the necessary funding and approvals out of the way ASAP, before a new president can come in and attempt to kill the project?

I think most fans would agree that there isn't a single facility project more critical to the future of ISU athletics. I was hoping that there would be a more visible effort to take advantage of the conference realignment scare to stir up donations and such. Maybe this is another opportunity.

The most urgent matter right now would be to find a new President, (or at least a pool of candidates) that instills confidence in both the university and the athletics program. I highly doubt they will be able to get the south endzone project done in a year, but if they can hire a competent candidate that can bring in funding at the same (or preferably exceed) level of funds Geoffroy was able to bring in, then that project won't be too far off.

I wouldn't be comfortable holding out hope that ISU will end up with a new president who supports athletics. In fact, if I were JP, I would plan for the worst case scenario and try to get the project underway (not necessarily completed) before the new man/woman is on board.

I think a lot of people fear that we get Sally Mason 2.0. I have faith that Geoffroy will help in the selection process and find someone he's comfortable handing the reigns over too.

In all honesty, I'd trust Pollard to run this show more than a lot of folks.

As long as Miles and the BoR stay out of the way, ISU will do just fine. There are a lot of people in positions of power at ISU who get it...Madden, Pollard, Tanaka, Hill and some really good former Deans (Melsa, Okiishi, Allen) that could have a say in the decision. Not to mention, Geoffrey might help out in the process too. I'd like to see Jeff Johnson involved somehow too.

I thought this was going to be a Jeff Woody thread. "Ram it home Woody!"
