    Question from a BU fan

What is your opinion on the job Hoiberg has done so far and what do you expect the next few years from him?

    Very good thus far.
Expect a run of NCAA tournament berths in the next few years.

Re: Question from a BU fan

I think most fans are pretty happy with the direction of program after 1 year with Fred. Though the results didn't show up in terms of wins & losses, the team was more copetitive this year with argueably less talent that the last few years. The team also showed greater effort game in and game out.

Fred has also brought in a major increase in talent, mostly by way of transfers, who had to sit out this past season.

I think most of us are optomistic, but are very curious/excited to see how next year goes with what we expect to be significantly more talented team.

    This is what I expect.

edit; It's sort of a loaded question though, Fred is an ISU legend.

I expect Fred's teams to be much more disciplined and consistent than Scott Drew's Wild Headcases.

Re: Question from a BU fan

This year was extremely frustrating without a doubt - but looking solely at the end of season record just doesn't tell the whole story. Of our 16 losses we were blown out of only 4 games, and of those remaining 12 the majority of those we had the lead going into the final 3 minutes of the game. Hoiberg had a severe talent deficiency - he had less talent and virtually no depth to work with, especially compared to last year, and yet he had us that close to winning. If Hoiberg had just one, perhaps two, more guys to work with, particularly a guy that could at least hold his own, if not dominate, in the paint, this season's outcome is entirely different and we're likely playing postseason ball.

Next year is going to be a better measure of what Hoiberg can do, as our talent deficiency should all but disappear. The players ineligible to play this year and as such compose what the national media has dubbed "the best scout team in America" should all be playing this year, plus Hoiberg has brought in what is reportedly the 15th best recruiting class in America, 3rd best in the Big 12. Needless to say, around here we're really excited about what just might be next year.

Re: Question from a BU fan

I expect to be in the top 3 of the conference again, starting with next year's squad. And holding on to that range for many-many years like when we dominated the league in the early 2000s.

This year's team had maybe three guys that actually deserved to be playing B12 ball this year....and yet, we were in a position to win 90% of those games. (6-7 games with the lead with 2 min to go....we were in games...just couldn't find a way to win.) Imagine Fred with REAL talent and a bench.... (que next season)....

Hoiberg + NBA connections/General Manager + coaching connections (NCAA/NBA) + Being an ISU All American + From Ames, IA = HUGE recruits for ISU down the road.

Hopefully CFH won't have to call a suicide squeeze play in the final game to get us in the tournament.

That being said, he would be ballsy enough to call a suicide squeeze with the winning run on second base...

Who is at the plate for the surprise element? White or Railey?

You do realize that the transfers are the reason it's the 15th best class in the nation. Your statement is inaccurate. Sledge/Odunsi/McGee aren't that highly rated in relation to the rest of the Big 12/nation.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

If he realized it he wouldn't have written it.
