That is the kind I take. It has helped me lower my cholesterol and triglyceride count dramatically. My cholesterol was once over 400 and triglyceride over 650. My doctor has advised me to stick with it.

Buy the Omega 3 kind without mercury. They may advertise it on their label.

Flax Oil is not bad either.

Some doctors are now claiming if you can get your chloresterol down between 200-300, that is yeomans work and you do not need statins which can cause other problems.

You can also eat some herring (mixed with pickled beets out of a can).....

High-vitamin, fermented cod-liver oil is the best fish oil you can take. Fermentation makes it much easier for your body to process. Three of the best brands are Blue Ice, Dr. Ron's, and Green Pasture. I take Green Pasture and purchase it in bulk online.

    Re: Fish Oil

I've read a little bit that suggests that Cod Liver oil may not be the best product to take during the sunny months as you can over do your Vitamin A & D levels(one of those you naturally get being exposed to sunlight).

I take 1,000 MG Nature Bounty Fish Oil during most of the year and switch to Cod Liver Oil in November and take it through February.

Can't say it's done much for my overall cholestrol(mine hovers at 200), but my ratio of bad to good has improved.

Wow -that's very high. I was consistently in the 230 range with HDL in a bad rage for over 10 years until I finally succumbed to a prescrip of Lipitor.

If Fish Oil can help me, I'd gladly replace. Would you mind telling how much your cholesterol numbers improved since going on Fish Oil??
