So sick of hearing about baseball. Its a sport where a large part of the season sucks for us for weather, and its not like we had lots of attendance when we did have it.

I've debated on MacFarland. He certainly appeared to be making progress, and the offense he put on the field at the end of his last season was certainly better than anything Herman has put on the field. I still feel though that based on the money Chiz had to get assistants, he could have done better.

So, ISU is better than Oklahoma in the directors cup.

Which AD is more successful, ISU's, or Oklahoma's?

Season/weather is too short in Iowa - I tried several times to watch games at Capp Timm and had to bail.

If it is a comparison on who does the most per $$$ available, then it's JP and ISU by a mile IMO. We get the most bang per buck.

I agree, although McFarland did benefit some from being down so much in some games (Bolt).

There is no revenue generating sport for wrestling to piggy back off of. That was his point.
But it's not the "same facility." It is really two separate ones. Have you been inside it? Each basketball program has their own court, their own offices, their own lockers, their own player lounges.
If the Sukup had just one court, then the term "piggybacked" would apply. But they don't.

The personel was also a lot closer to correct for the system.

Pollard has done a lot of things here. When was the last time the AD was self sufficient? How about the budget increases? Facility improvements? Those things all come before the winning. We are on the right track in the two major sports along with VB and WBB. If KJ get's it going we are looking pretty damn good.

It's all relative. What he has vs what he gets out of it. I personally think Rick Barnes is a brutal basketball coach. He produces NCAA tournaments every year, but his teams MASSIVELY under achieve for the talent level. Mack Brown last year was absolutely atrocious. Every resource on the planet, didn't do ****.

Someone like Frank Martin however doesn't have it the same. He doesn't have the program history of Kansas, and he doesn't have the recruiting grounds of someone like Texas, the money of Oklahoma State, etc. but he finds a way to compete for the most part with those with more than he has.

JP has found a way to get Iowa State to compete in sports across the board, and the football program seems to be in good hands along with the basketball program. Throw in the facility improvements were constantly making and we're setting the table to at least have a chance at future success. He's providing the coaches with as much as the AD can give them to succeed. Its up to them to do it.

Seriously? Do you honestly think the WBB program was the primary reason for the facility? No, it was made for the MBB program and they threw in the WBB program because it made sense.
