    Your opinion of not being able to skip trailers on DVDs?

    What is your opinion of not being able skip trailers on DVDs?

    It seems like every time I get a new movie from Netflix, I get stuck waiting for 10 minutes through all the commercials and trailers at the beginning. Personally it makes me want to snap the disk in half when this happens.

    At least some of the blu rays now stream updated trailers so its not a movie from 10 years ago, but yeah, it still sucks.

    Also on the list of things with DVDs that are annoying is how the anti-piracy notice pops up for a few seconds every time I alt-tab in or out of the movie. I'm pretty sure that at this point, I've seen the anti-piracy notice more times than I have written my own name.

    The only bonus is that I can use fast forward at a pretty high rate that will go all the way to the title screen. I remember back in the day when you could just hit the "Menu" button and it'd skip right to the DVD's menu. The GF, on the other hand, will make me watch every preview. Annoying as hell.

    I don't rent DVDs very often, but when I do, I just put it in the player a few minutes before I want to watch it....then go pop some popcorn and come back and start it up after it has passed the commercials and trailers.

    Have they started putting trailers on DVDs that you buy in stores? Been a long time since I've bought one......

    On a side note, the 15 minutes of commercials they show at theaters now is what has driven me away from watching movies in the theaters. Last one I saw in the theaters was Terminator Salvation in May 2009, and prior to that it was The Dark Knight in June 2008.

    I don't want DVDs much, but when I do I play them in my old Xbox with XBMC so I can skip straight to the menu.

    As stated earlier, fast forward instead of scene skip, and it should work.
