    St. Croix River Houseboating Advice

Does anyone on here have much experience boating on the St. Croix River or houseboating in general?

I'm trying to plan a bachelor party for this summer, but don't know much about the St. Croix River area and all it has to offer. Our leading option is to rent a houseboat for a 3-day weekend on the river, but I'm not sure where to camp or where to hang out with other boaters looking to have a good time.

If you have any input or advice, it is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Can't go wrong with Beer Can Island and other islands in that channel. These are in the channel by Hudson and St. Croix Marina. Very popular spot to camp and party on the weekends.

Kinnickinnic State Park between Prescott & River Falls is also a lot of fun. If you're looking for space and other camping amenities, this would be your spot.

That seems to be consistent with what I've read on some random online forums as well, but there's not much info. out there. Thanks for the input.

Do you know if the state park is more of a quiet area or if they're more strict on noise, drinking, etc.? I want to try and avoid the quiet/family areas as much as possible and focus on the areas that are more active and loud so we blend in. :)
