    Spring Outlook: The Receivers

I know that many people have been disappointed with the performance some of the returning wideouts, but the coaches seem to see some promise!

I really want to see Jarvis West. He could be a gamebreaker

We need Blanton and West to be absolute studs. I cant wait until we get another fantastic playmaker at WR.

Why do you always seem so negative? Nothing wrong with being excited/hopeful. Your post history is kinda depressing.

Jim Walden and Donnie Duncan "saw a lot of promise" every spring, too. You can't read this stuff and actually think it means something.

No. As fans we can get blindly excited over stupid stuff like this. Nothing wrong with talking a little football in the spring.

I suppose after the spring game you will be the first to comment how we cant take anything away from a spring game.

    Re: Spring Outlook: The Receivers

I didn't realize that they were expecting Jarvis West to play last year? That's promising.

However... in today's world, the ability to "sell" your fanbase some excitement is just as important as actually winning in the fall. It's all about selling season tickets. Rhoads isn't going to come out and say that the outlook is bad for this season. JP would never allow a head coach to do that, even if they believed it were true.

    So who knows?

One of the guys that Walden "saw promise in" was Keith Sims. Another was Marcus Robertson. I think those two turned out okay.

    Re: Spring Outlook: The Receivers

Money, Jennert, and West all have the ability to be very good for us. Last year, it seemed like the games we won were the ones they really got Money and Lenz involved.

Darks has been my favorite WR since he joined, and it will be interesting to see how the Jantz to Horne combination works at this level. Even Young sounded promising coming in last year.

Studs from the day they arrived to the day they left. Walden didn't have to convince anyone of that. And still ISU never went to a bowl game with them. Which ISU receivers will have long NFL careers like Sims and Robertson?

We dont need NFL quality. We just need production types of Blythe, Watley, Groce, Flynn, Davis etc.
