To pull off an April Fools Joke correctly, the date on the calender must read April 1st. Try again in 2 weeks.

definitely not enough seats. They were told that they didn't have enough seats for a regional or even to be a pod.

More seats than Dayton. Dayton 13k vs Wells Fargo 16k.

Wells Fargo is 16,110 for basketball.

The biggest problem is how damn expensive it is to fly in/out of Des Moines.

    FIRST FOUR...not Final Four.

The OP has a great point...Des Moines would be perfect for it.

I have seen Dayton, Ohio host the 1st and 2nd rounds in 2008, Siena beat Ohio State in Dayton that year

Re: Des Moines Wells Fargo could be ideal to host First Four

Reading comprehension is showing poorly in this thread.

First 4... maybe? I thought i remember that we were just below what they wanted in seating for one of the pods, so maybe one level down, the first 4 would be possible on that end.

Still suck in the 'hotels near the arena', 'things to do' and 'availability of flights' categories. Cant fix the 4th but des moines really screwed up in all other areas on this arena, building it too small, and in a horrible location (surely had something to do with preserving vets, that theyre now pouring even more money into now... when it shouldve just been knocked down). Wouldve been much better near existing entertainment down near court.

Do most of the teams fly commercial? I thought many of them took chartered flights...and if that's the case, the size of the airport isn't a huge deal.

Also, check out priceline...flights aren't exactly cheap into Dayton, OH.
