    Jarion Henry

Curious how much interest Iowa State has in this player. He's a 4* 6'8 Small Forward out of Dallas. Of all players who have not declared their school, he is the highest rated recruit that has interest in Iowa State. Has offers from Arkansas, Fresno State, Marquette and UTEP. With McKnight transferring, does it look like he will receive a scholarship offer from Iowa State?

I dont' think he has much interest in Iowa State. We have not even offered.

It'll be interesting to see what we do with the extra Scholly. I'm sure Fred and Otz have a plan. They are typically very good at picking up good talent late in the game.

If Tubby goes to Minnesota, it would be interesting to see if BJ Young (Arkansas commit) or Joe Coleman (Minnesota commit) would open up their recruiting. Both had some interest in us and would be great late pick ups.

We were hard after both. BJ Young would be tremendous for this team, but we already have Sledge, so I don't know if the interest is still there. Young is a better player, but I don't think you kick Sledge to the curb if Young were to try and get out of his LOI. I think we need to see if there is a big that we want to replace McKnight, who I expected to be key coming off the bench next year.

I think this Henry kid position fits in better than the other 2 referenced in this thread. Using a 6'8" SF to go along with Ejim would be nice. The post is taken care of with White, Booker, Godfrey and Railey.....plus the guard situation looks to be in good hands.

Is this kid related to the Xavier Henry that played at KU?

6'8 and only 195 not really a b12 power forward kind of body.

He's listed as a small forward, not power forward.

This right here. He would really add to whats already great depth, and the SF position would be stacked nearly as well as the SG position. We already have enough down low for the next couple years, I think we should add depth to the 3 spot. And having that height on the outside would make for some nice mismatch problems.

How can they be typically anything? Fred hasn't even been here a year yet.

If we were hard after both, why doesn't it have us listed as having offered Young?

    Re: Jarion Henry

Unless a top 50 talent shows up, i can't see us using this scholarship this year. We're pretty set for next year, especially if we're playing 3 guard lineup.

    Guard (120 minutes available) - Allen (35), SC(30), McGee(30), Babb(18), Odunsi(RS), Sledge(5), Bubu (2)

    Forward( 80 minutes available) - White(32), Booker(20), Ejim(15), Godfrey(10), Railey(3)

That's 8 deep, not including small minutes for Railey and Sledge. To crack this rotation, whoever comes along is going to need to be top tier. I'd say we'd be better off looking at 2012 SGs or a back-up plan in case RW heads to the NBA after one season.

Godfrey will play more than 10 minutes. And why does everyone think Sledge will play so little minutes? It's not like we are deep at the point guard position. And same with Babb, I hope he is getting more than 18 minutes a game.
