    Re: OU fires Capel

Love how every place Kelvin Sampson has gone there coach is now being fired because he left the program in shambles. Indiana's coach may make it through this year. However, he will be fired probably at the end of next year if he does not right that ship.

Not sure I buy this line of argument. Classic example of giving a guy the keys to the Ferrari and watching him drive it straight into a telephone pole. Guy has been coaching since the 2006-07 season. Made the NCAA Second Round in 2008, made the Elite Eight in 2009, and then the program went right off the cliff, to the point where it's debatable they're in a worse place than ISU is.

Guy proved he can win with Kelvin Sampson's players, but is proving he can't win with his own.

    Wow, that is surprising.

Oklahoma and Texas Tech so far will be with new coaches next season. Hopefully Missouri loses Anderson!

I think that's the point - this was a team in the Elite Eight two years ago, not to mention a decent history behind them. What the hell happened? The only logical argument is the guy can win with decent talent (the guys that Samson left him) but can't go out and get the talent himself.

    Re: OU fires Capel

When McDermott left for Creighton I believe there were couple of posts in "who's the next coach' discussion pointing out that Capel was an up-and-coming coach who was successful at OU.

I don't know whether he's looking or not, but it does seem like annually his name gets mentioned for a more prestigious job than Missouri.
