I loved to see UNC and barnes get killed by Duke today.

I always love to see UNC and Roy Boy get killed. I'm striving not to enjoy the Barnes angle.

Me too! Anyone else tired of seeing weekly Harrison Barnes highlights on Channel 13? I am probably a little bitter (although I understand his decision as ISU basketball was in bad shape), but we have had really good athletes in our state before that went to other schools and I don't remember so much attention. I hope Fred can make our program more appealing to young players as there is still a small crop of D 1 talent in the state.

I am pretty sure we have never had the #1 player before. I enjoy seeing it and was rooting for UNC today!

He was rated as the number one player in his class, but that has proved to be false.

I don't know why you guys are hating on Barnes so much. He's a good kid. He went to a good school. Have your issues with Roy Willams as much as you will, but HB is a good apple and doesn't fall far from the tree (I know his mother). Lay off the kid.

He had 40 points in his last game and 16 today. You're bitter.

    Good post; totally agree.

I am bitter, but he is not the best player in his class. He is a VERY good player, but there are several freshman that played a lot better this year. Two games do not define a whole season. My sister lives in Greensboro, NC and he took a lot of heat this year as UNC fans have been disappointed. He has played better the second half of the season.

I have no problem with him HB leaving the state. I DO have a problem with how he did it and always will. At least Paige made his commitment early and without fanfare. I hope Paige does well.

    Re: barnes

I am willing to guess that many people on this board that are upset with Barnes leaving Iowa are the same people who wanted McDermott fired. I for one was not a McDermott fan and can't fault Harrison for wanting to go elsewhere. The old saying, "don't ask somebody to do something you wouldn't do yourself" applies here

Maybe he shouldn't have ranked himself so high. It's almost like "stars" and "rankings" of high school kids are inconsistent and may be off occasionally.

Idiot "expert opinions" on an 18 year old guy shouldn't cause hostility toward anybody but the idiot experts.

I think that is my feelings as well. I know he is a good kid and a good basketball player.
