***** OFFICIAL SELECTION SUNDAY THREAD *****

Remember when Selection Sunday used to be fun? Waiting until 5 pm with all kinds of speculation of where we should be seeded? Hopefully next year we will be paying a lot more attention to Bracketology.

I still like Selection Sunday. I still look forward to it, but that tradition mainly grew from years when ISU was going to get a bid (or was expected to get one). It's interesting, but not 'exciting' without ISU.

Tournament is still fun but also not as intense without ISU. I'd like to return to frequent appearances, starting next season. (And I've felt that way for about 5 years).

    We'll be back soon enough.

Still love watching the brackets announced even if ISU isn't a part of it. My gut prior to the brackets coming out tells me the ACC is a sham (only see one team maybe making Elite 8), BYU and San Diego State will have early exits, and picking against the Big East is going to be really difficult. I could see 6 teams from that conference legitimately making the Final Four.

A 6-team Final Four would be incredible.

Just kidding, I know what you meant ... I honestly think any of the top 6 could go, but I expect Notre Dame, Syracuse and St. John's to fall prior to that, possibly before the Elite 8. Louisville seems like it could go to the Final Four or get knocked out almost immediately. UConn is hot, so I think that's going to be a popular favorite for Final Four.

I also agree w/ you about BYU/San Diego State whichever one gets a 2 seed, I could see losing to a 7 or 10 in Round 2. They're both solid, but it seems like when non-BCS teams rise up the ladder, they succumb to early exits.

I can see BYU going down first round. If Jimmer is even the slightest bit off, where is the scoring going to come from? I'd love to see some coach with nothing to lose come out with a triangle and 2 with the 2 both on Jimmer and see what happens.

Agreed. And they don't have big horses down low that get physical and rebound well. They're a good shooting team but if they get matched with a physical team, look out.

I would rather see Harvard or Missouri St or UTEP or St Marys or UAB get in. Instead of Alabama or Illinios or Washington St or Marquette

Agreed about Harvard. Alabama and Washington State won't get in. 100% disagree with Marquette. I love watching them play and they absolutely deserve to be in the tourney.

Re: ***** OFFICIAL SELECTION SUNDAY THREAD *****

Agree about BYU. I feel they could lose to anyone and beat anyone. If JF goes off, they will be hard to beat. If he goes cold, I don't see how they win.

What does everyone think about the Big 12? Kansas is good but I think guard play will cost them. I could see a team with tough guards giving them trouble, even if if the Morrisi play well. I think Texas actually might have a better shot to advance further into the tourney. I could see Kansas getting bounced as early as the sweet sixteen if they get a bad match-up. I don't think Texas will make it past the Elite Eight.

K-state is hot right now but that team has been too inconsistent for me to pick 'em far. Dido with Mizzou. I could see both of these teams potentially making a run, but I'm guessing early exits.

A&M is a good team but they don't have enough offense. At some point you need to score points no matter how good you are defensively. Just ask Wisconsin. I think they will be out in the round of 32.

I don't think Colorado is in...but if they do make it I wouldn't want to pick them to go anywhere. Alec Burkes is that team, if he goes off look out...otherwise they stink.

I don't see a dominant team this year, should be an interesting tourney. Ohio State may be my pick to go all the way.
