    Early Big XII Predictions?

Just looking at next years rosters it seems we'll fall somewhere between 4 and 8 with Kansas, Texas and Missouri on top and Tech and Oklahoma at the bottom. 1-6 will get byes but 6 may be a tough spot if you are needing a win to get in the big dance. I think we'll finish 4th but be picked around 6th or 7th.

There is a very good chance that KU is going to be down next year if the Morris twins leave, along with Selby. KSU probably isn't going to be very good next year and depending if Anderson leaves MU, they have a chance to be down as well. We have a nice opportunity to make some noise next year in the Big XII.

    Re: Early Big XII Predictions?

hard to say right now. but I don't think kansas is going to be kansas next year. it sounds like they will lose their top 6 players on the team. 2 seniors, selby, morris twins, and taylor going to the pros. they only have naadir tharpe coming in. not much help. unless those guys don't go to the pros we will be better than them. i see texas being the best depending on who goes to the pros(they have 3 4 star players and 1 5 star player coming in). Missouri will be tough(Satterfield is the only senior and they have a decent recruiting class). A&M will be up there also(a couple of 4 star kids coming in). Baylor has another 5 star kid coming in but lose Dunn and Jones. Ok St are bringing in a 5 star kid but lose Moses-I could see them up there also. If are transfers are as good as advertised and we play good together I can see us as high as two and as low as five.

    Re: Early Big XII Predictions?

2005: There is a good chance KU is going to be down once they lose Wayne Simien, Aaron Miles, and Keith Langford.

2008: There is a good chance KU is going to be down once they lose Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson, Russell Robinson, and Darrell Arthur.

2010: There is a good chance KU is going to be down once they lose Sherron Collins, Cole Aldrich, and Xavier Henry.

2011: There is a good chance KU is going to be down once they lose the Morris twins and Josh Selby.

How long is this going to go on?

Do you know what the chances of this happening are by any chance? I haven't heard much about who is staying and who may leave early.

because KUcyclone-those years they had awesome recruiting classes coming in...duh. next year they only have one kid so far. that doesn't mean they won't buy a couple studs before next season. i am going off what I have heard and see right now.

If they were to lose the Morris twins and Selby, there is a good chance they will be down for KU's standards. At this point, they have one kid coming in next season that probably won't make a huge difference right away.

At some point, you just have to accept that Bill Self is going to have a competitive team out there. They lost two lottery picks from last season, and lost a senior point guard who was a better college player than both of them. The freshman they brought in hasn't had much of an impact at all. And, yet, they won the conference for the 7th straight year.

At what point is it going to be silly to assume that KU drops off when they lose a few guys?

    Re: Early Big XII Predictions?

If KU is ever going to be down, it is next season with them potentially losing multiple players and not being able to bring in top recruits due to there lack of seniors. With that said however, they will still finish near the top of the Big 12, likely 3rd or fourth and still be a tournament team. KU being down, is not the same as most other programs because KU is one of the 3 elite schools at this time. The other two being North Carolina and Duke.

Right, but they also usually sign at least 1 stud freshmen that makes a major impact. At this point, they have yet to do that. I have no doubt that Self will ALWAYS have good basketball teams at KU, but every once in awhile he might not have a national championship caliber team and that's ok.

God I don't know what's worse: A KU basketball fan who is also a Cyclone or an Iowa football fan who is also a cyclone.

Kansas just re-loads. Tech might bring in Gillespie and he'll bring a lot of talent in the first year. The only 2 programs that we can usually count on for at least 1 win are NU and CU, and they're outta here.

The latter, but the former is also bad.

I don't despise KU. Iowa on the other hand, I can't stand.
