    Kids Golf Clubs

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy some golf clubs for a 4 soon to be 5 year old preferably in Ankeny or Ames. My son and I have been watching the golf channel alot at night lately and he is obsessed with golf now.

Just wanted to get him a cheap little set to start swinging around. Figured this can only be a win for me as it will give me an excuse to hit the links more this summer.

    Thanks

Buy used but don't buy or have adult clubs cut off. Heads are too heavy for them. I don't live in that area but don't you have a Play It Again Sports or something like that? I'd start there.

I've seen individual kids clubs and sets at both Walmart and Target.

As far as I am concerned, US Kids golf makes some of the bets kids clubs. I had three kids so I bought a set for my oldest and then just kept handing them down as she got older. I have bought three sets and all three kids have used them.

Edwin Watts sells new and used I believe or ebay would be a good find. Heck, If I can find all the clubs, I might have a set for you. Not sure I can find all of them though.

And loike someone else said, DO NOT cut down adult clubs. The heads are just to big and heavy.

    Cool Re: Kids Golf Clubs

I've had great luck buying my kids golf clubs online, ebay, craigslist or rockbottomgolf.

The key is getting the right length so your kid can swing it properly. I went to the U.S. Kids Golf website and they have a chart that tells you the proper length of clubs needed based on your kid's height. I then used that info when I was shopping for kids clubs no matter the brand.

It's great your kid loves golf already. Good luck!

Ya I believe so. Also there are kids clubs that are adjustable as your kid grows. Probably I little more pricey but will last a lot longer.

    Re: Kids Golf Clubs

I bought some of my son's clubs at Kinley's on Fleur. All they really need is a driver, 6/7 iron and a putter.

At first, I let my son tee off, and then we'd pick up his ball until it was time to put. If there was no one behind us, I'd let him hit in the fairway. Overall, though, I think hitting just the drives off a tee gave him a better feeling about golf than trying to hit the harder shots. He started at about that age, and still loves to play (at 12).
