Just what the Cubs need is a free swinging career .250 something outfielder that strikes out 3x as much as he walks. Not what you'd call an impact move down the stretch. Moreover, all this does is eat playing time from the rest of the 2007 .250- .290 something hitters that have actually turned it on as of late. And really, what could more likely be the scenario with this pickup is that Soriano is no where near coming back as believed.
Just the way the managerial minds delve in circles in their bidden haste to improve upon downtrodden players who need career years for the Cubbies to win. Looks like Card fans are going to have a hay day soon over Brewers and Cubbies. They actually look like they have a pitching staff assembling as we write.
CFH HMagic bball season next year.
