    Good article.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

Excellent article. I hope that Hoiberg's last statement turns out to be very true.

I like that article...and a year ago to think many would have such positive vibes about our MBB program has to make us happy!

Not to suggest too much...but it reminds me of the feeling I had when LE's team beat KU in Hilton to finish the regular season his first season at ISU. It just felt like things were going to get really good for us!

The haters will be too busy hating to read that article, which is too bad, because it was a very good one.

Exactly. How easily some people forget that we were playing a couple of true freshman and a rs freshman considerable minutes. Our senior leaders were solid players but in the BIG XII Conference they were going up against teams that had 2 or 3 players that were more talented then them and had guys coming off the bench that were just as good as them. ISU wasn't going to win games on talent this year. They had to play above their talent level and out work the opposition for 40 minutes just to be in games. The best part is that they did just that. They were competitive and were in the game to the bitter end in the vast majority of our losses this season. Add a little more depth, add some more talent, and keep that work ethic that they had this season and ISU teams in the coming years are going to leave a path of total destruction throughout the BIG XII. Count on it.

9,8,6. That was the scoring average of 3 of the transfers that have played. Maybe it was the systems, but from a scoring perspective, those have not proven to be elite scorers by any stretch.

Sounds like Diante's average last season.

Re: Nice write up in the KC Star

That was a nice article and it is great to see the Cyclones get that kind of press finishing last and being out of the tourney already from a 'neutral' newspaper.

As for the average points from our transfers, you have to remember that they also were not the key players on their team. They were not DG when they were playing last year, rather they were role guys on the team... I have no doubt that if they are starters and key players that their numbers will be much higher, circa DG's improvement.

I would agree that none of those three are elite scorers. However Allen was a third or fourth option at Michigan, and Babb really started to come on late in his sophomore year. I think next year both of those guys will be in the 12-15 ppg range. They are both proven B12 level talents which will be a huge upgrade for us. As for Booker, we will have to wait and see, he was a pretty average player in the MVC, we'll see if we can make the leap to B12 level.

But White is the type of guy who's a program changer. A top 20 recruit, the guy you can build a team around. He will be the most important player for next year and hopefully the following seasons too.

Re: Nice write up in the KC Star

Chris Allen was stuck behind Kalin lucas, Durrell summers, raymar Morgan and others at MSU and is more than a capable scorer. Babb really came on late in his soph year at Penn state, and did it while stuck behind ballhog talor battle. He'll be allowed to do a lot more than just spot up 3's for us like he did at PSU. and Booker has loads of ability, but didn't fit well in slow SIU system. He's a high flyer and should thrive in our up tempo style.

Add Royce to that and it's a very skilled group with ability to be able to score a lot, in a hurry.
