    DM Register Article on Lattimer

This morning's Register reported that ISU officials said that Lattimer's prior felony conviction in Kansas will have no bearing on his status with the ISU football team. I take this to mean that ISU will not hold his prior conviction against him. If so, it would appear that Lattimer would not be dismissed from the team - maybe be suspended for a game or two. (I hope I have linked the article properly - this is my first time trying.)

At the same time, the article talks about conditions and expectations that CPR made before allowing him on the team. Those conditions are spelled out in the article, but I would assume that they included staying out of legal trouble - particularly DON'T ASSAULT ANYONE!!

    What is your take?

Sounds like Lattimer needs to find some new "friends". He ends up in jail when he parties with this Christopher Banks kid.

Our fans really need not take the "high & mighty" approach with Iowa and their troubles. Bad karma, and it will always come back to bite you with something like this, IMO.

As long as he is all over the QB next fall, I will be cheering like crazy for him (and I know the rest of JTS will be too)

Oops, I say above that the conditions/expectations are spelled out in the article. I meant to say that they are NOT spelled out.

That isn't some drunken mistake. That's a beatdown. I'm suprised he isn't off the team given that this is his second time.

It might not be an issue though, he might be serving time by the time fall camp starts and then the decision would be made for him.

I interpreted the article the statements in the article the same way you did. Several people in the other thread disagree with our interpretation of the article, but I think you are correct.

Kroeschell said in response to a question that Iowa State does not conduct background checks. He said the university’s disciplinary policy related to student athletes is activated by events that occur after enrollment.
    That's interesting.

I cheer for the team and I can tell you that I certainly won't be cheering for Lattimer.

That quote, as presented, doesn't sound very good to me. Since that's all I've got to go with, it doesn't sound very good at all.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Why the hell not? They had rapists on their team, were ranked second on arrests in the past four years, and had more arrests in a 15 month span than we've had in several years. I'll bash all I want.

Latimer is an idiot. To bad he can rush the passer so well.
