Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

How is DMB a 12 seed? Grateful Dead a 10 seed? WTF Cowherd! Doesn't matter though, Led Zep should probably sweep this tourney.

Also, I hope Creed being in here is just a joke. Good thing they are up against the Beatles.

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

I'm sorry, but Blink 182 shouldn't even be in this bracket. Tool and 311 should be a way higher seed. Besides, I thought this was suppose to be a battle of the rock bands? Why is Outkast and the Beastie Boys on here?

As I voted I noticed no upsets. Journey a 14 seed? The 16 seed opposite Zep was nickelback hahaha if that was a basketball game Zep wins 116-35.

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

I am sorry that bracket is ridiculous, that seeds are crazy, and some bands do not even belong. Ex. Living Colour, Creed, Foreigner, Jefferson Airplane, Jackson 5, ELO and the Parliment..... Seriously????

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

Yeah, is he doing rock, or just artists? Jackson 5? Outkast? Earth Wind & Fire? ELO? Bob Marley.

Don't consider any of those Rock. If Bob Marley is on the list, why no Bob Dylan?

Radiohead, Neil Young, Eric Clapton some other notable omissions.

Also I hate U2 so much. Creed, are you f*ing serious??

This is a race between the Beatles and Zeppelin, My vote is Zeppelin. Although My favorite bands on the list are Phish and the Grateful Dead.

I like seeing P-Funk get some love. I saw two 10 seeds currently upsetting 7's. Lynyrd Skynyrd & The Grateful Dead

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

I listen to the podcast on a daily basis, and I'm pretty happy with the brackets. There are some that I have no idea why they're in (Outcast? Really?), and some that are a little higher of a seed because of Cowherd's personal preferences. He almost didn't let Metallica into the bracket because he doesn't like them at all. But with the restrictions (such as no solo acts) and way of determining seeds(extra points for missing limbs, deaths, drug use, new members/lead singers), I think it's pretty solid.

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

I've got a Final Four of Nirvana, Zepplin, The Who and Pearl Jam. Zepplin over Nirvana, Pearl Jam defeated by the The Who because Ed refuses to compete against his idol Pete and a bloody British final with Zepplin cruising to a Championship. Side note, Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses were eliminated due to a Larry Eustachy type tirade in the Elite Eight.

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

Technically Prince was in a band during his heyday. Not having him on there is an absolute joke and I'm not a big fan of his. That dude has a Little Richard/Steve Perry combo voice, can jam on all sorts of instruments, and probably bagged tons and tons of women.

Re: Battle of the bands Bracket

I lost any and all respect for this tournament that I might have had when they placed Tool at a #15 seed (probably the best metal band in the business today), and the fact that they're getting blown out by Van Halen.

And as someone in the threads mentioned, not having Foo Fighters in this tournament is an absolute crime.

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
