How much should I pay for tickets?

I was planning on walking up to the game Wednesday and just buying a couple tickets off someone cuz I heard there are lots of people selling them. How much should I expect to pay for each ticket? I have never been so I don't want to get screwed.

    Just my opinion...

Based on the 4 teams in the first session $20 is more than enough to get a good seat. OK State is the only other school that brings fans.

Print out a seating map so you know **** from shinola, for starters. Not all tickets are equal. Are you looking for cheapest period or best value? Distinguish between the scalper jackals and regular fans just looking to sell extras. Try to avoid jackals, but be open to both. Go early, ask around, play it cool, take it or leave it attitude about tickets. You'll do fine.

Good points look for fans early and scalpers late that have a ton of tickets to dump. Scalpers likely only gave $5-10 for session 1 tickets.

No more that 20 bucks. Wait till first game starts or past second half. Buy cheap anywhere then bum tickets off fans leaving the game before to get good seats. Ended up 3rd row behind bench last year.

Re: How much should I pay for tickets?

My buddy was selling 2 for $8/each. My brother gave my dad and I two for free. I dont think theres much demand for the first session tomorrow. I would say $15/ticket would be reasonable.

Re: How much should I pay for tickets?

Go about an hour before gametime and feel out what everyone is selling them for. The closer to gametime the lower the prices get and more willing people are to taking less than they are asking. Like someone said play it cool and have a take it or leave it attitude else a scalper knows you are desperate to find a ticket and won't budge on price if they think they have a sure sale.

I bet I sold half my my sessions off last year and broke even for what I paid for the entire all-session pass. I know my asking price was high to start hoping to bring an offer close to what I really wanted. Ask a scalper (they are easy to spot out, they are all over the place down there) what they want and basically look for anything reasonable under that price from someone that is likely a fan not a scalper as they are probably set their prices based on what the scalpers set theirs at. I know that is what I did, got a feel for what scalpers were trying to sell their tickets for then priced mine slightly less. If you can find someone selling day 2 sessions at a reasonable prices on day 1 there is money to be made on those if you want to take a risk on buying at a good price as KU and KSU fans pay rediculous prices sometimes to see their teams on gameday.

That doesn't work first session, first day, which was the entire point of the original question.

You don't buy them from the fans leaving. You buy a cheap ticket to get in the door. Wait at the section you want to sit when the first game is over. Ask people for their ticket. They will give you their tickets if they are leaving and you will get good seats for very cheap and in the spot you want.
