    Booker and White

I'm looking forward to having some BIG (and I don't mean tall) guys in the post next year. Last I heard Royce is about 265 and Booker was at 250 trying to get to 260 by next season. Saw this tweet by Booker today:

"Benched 300 wit the homie @ApolloKeys today... Gettin swoll fa next year!!!!"
    ApolloKeys being Royce White

That's impressive and I don't think either of those guys are going to take a lot of pushing and shoving next year. Along with Calvin the Godfather Godfrey down low I'm pretty excited!

With Booker, White, and Godfrey...that front court is gonna be massive and I'm so excited. Even more so after watching godfrey have the game he did against colorado, he's a freshman doing that...imagine next year.

Railey should have his moments too- if he has the dedication.

    I knew I was forgetting someone. /facepalm

Railey will have his moments, I think they will come later in his career after Royce and Booker are gone, but he's gonna be good too.

Though honestly, I sorta can't help but think that it would be an interesting lineup to see Royce, Booker, and Godfrey all out there at once just dominating the paint with whoever backing them up in the front court.

When is the last time since we had a low post group that didn't get pushed around and was able to impose their will. Fizer/Stevie. Homan?

I think he has the dedication. I remember Paul Shirley Redshirted and it paid off big time. I'm not sure if Jordan needs a redshirt year, but I think he has Shirley like potential if he continues to grow and mature with the program and the guys around him.

Fizer/Stevie, you mean Fizer, Shirley, Rancik, and Evans? Stevie was SF but he could play big. Rancik was PF but he could shoot SG, SF. Evans was tall enough to be PF but athletic enough to play SF/SG. We haven't had anything that size since them, and that's why we were the 2nd best team in the Nation that year (too bad we lost to the best team in the elite 8).

Stevie may had been a SF but he was the starting 4. That team played 3 guards and 2 forwards due to injuries to Shirley early in the year.

The thing that impresses me about Booker and White is that they both appear to have a mid-range game, in addition to some post moves. A mid-range game is something we've been lacking on our team as a whole, but especially in the post. If your post can consistently score from 12-14 feet on in, it makes him extremely hard to stop. The Morris twins' game is built around the ability to make mid-range jumpers consistently.

Also, White appears to have more range than Booker, out to 3-point range, so we won't be missing what JVB brought to the post position. I'm not saying White is going to be as accurate as JVB from 3, but he will at least pose a threat from there for opponents to worry about. Booker may be able to hit the three too, but I'm not as familiar with his game.

    Re: Booker and White

I'd like to know a little more about Booker. He was a national top 40 coming out of highschool. He went to a Missouri Valley school, one would think a recruit ranked that high would have better numbers in that conference. I know numbers do not tell the whole story, far from it a lot times, but I wonder how that would translate in the Big 12 where it is tougher and more physical? Any insights here?

I would like to know this too. This was the first I had heard of this. Sounds great to get 10 extra practices for this team.
