    Jayhawks, Again

Do we do anything different this time, or just the same, only better? The Texas game showed we still have trouble getting the ball into play. Perhaps we ought not to let it come down to that. KU is just a bad matchup for us. The Jayhawks are 19-9 overall and 6-8 in conference games. Iowa State is 20-8 overall and 8-6. They must have post-season aspirations - a record close to ours, but, their rpi/sos is lower 24/34 vs 65/79. Their starting lineup with three sophomores, a redshirt freshman and a freshman will be around for a long time and is getting better. Do we find a way to defend Davis or do we stop the rest and outscore her? KU mimics classic ISU at the free throw line, making more than their opponents have shot. They've shot 418-617 .677 and their opponents have shot 293-440 .666. ISU has shot 398-557 .715 and our opponents have shot 257-369 .696. Davis herself is 152-221 .688 suggesting that opponents foul while trying to stop her. She was 9-15 and had 31 pts. our last time out.

    Re: Jayhawks, Again

The thing we will do different is kick their kiesters back to Larryville. I have a feeling this team will be amped up for Kelsey tonight. You may see the best games to date out of Pop and Hallie.

    Re: Jayhawks, Again

Kiester kicking is easier said than done. BF, in the pregame, said KU is the most talented team in the north, not even close. He didn't tip his hat as to how he'll defend Davis - we'll find out soon enough. Adding Prins to the mix will help. If nothing else, that's five more fouls to give. I think if she stands like a statute undee the hoop, that might help.

Our offensive strategy is obvious -- pound it inside.

    Re: Jayhawks, Again

Yes, sloppy so far. One thing to note, Kansas' Carolyn Davis played only six minutes and didn't score in the first half. Davis had 36 points in the Jayhawks' last game against Nebraska.

    Re: Jayhawks, Again

Cyclones starting to pull away. They lead 40-27 and are on a 10-0 run. Amanda Zimmerman just hit a 3-pointer from the left corner, forcing Kansas to call a timeout.

    Re: Jayhawks, Again

Wow. What a run. Iowa State is currently on a 27-4 run thanks in large part to Amanda Zimmerman. The sophomore has 11 second half points.

57-31. barring a monumental collapse on the part of the Twister Sisters, I think we can consider the kiesters sufficiently kicked. How about Z?
