    Traffic Cameras in Ames

Just noticed the cameras on the traffic lights on South Dakota and West Lincolnway intersection. They are about 3-4 feet about the lights and don't look like your typical emergency signal devices either. Just wondering if anyone knew what they might be. Thanks!

Hard to tell exactly what you're talking about, but if you're talking about this:

It's a traffic light sensor. Instead of "cutting" sensors into the pavement at a traffic light that tells the computer running the light to change the light, they will put up these optical sensors instead.

Ah, the ones that people flash their brights at thinking it helps speed up the changing of the light.

Who do we talk to about turning arrows on Beech turning into Lincoln Way?
