Re: how many games will the cyclones win next fall?

The way I see it at this point:

Games we should win: UNI, Kansas
    Toss ups: @Kansas State
Winnable games but probably not favored: Iowa, @Connecticut, @Baylor, @Missouri, Texas A&M, @Texas Tech, Oklahoma State
Everything will need to go our way: Texas
    When hell freezes: @Oklahoma

Schedule is obviously lacking of those easy non-conference wins that are typical to a college football schedule. I say we beat UNI, Connecticut, Kansas, and Texas Tech, though it is really difficult to make a comfortable prediction with the ? at quarterback. Hopefully I'm wrong and we win more than four but if I were to bet money today I would say 4-8.

I hope for a 7 or 8 win season. All depends on the quarterback play. If our offense can't deliver, I would predict a 4 or 5 win season.

I still don't get the U-Conn fear. I wouldn't put them any higher than K-State, and probably not even that high. It isn't a gimmie, but they are not a good football team.

I would be very happy with 6-6 and 5-7 is acceptable, with that schedule.

This year I will only accept schedule toughness at 50% of the level I did last year. As we get our guys in the system and guys get into their third year, I expect to see improvement from the team to where we aren't underdogs in 80% of our games. We have to up expectations sometime.

Re: how many games will the cyclones win next fall?

KSU will be a good football team. They now have Bryce Brown who will be as effective as Thomas and they should improve at QB. That team will not be bad.

It all depends on QB play. If we have solid QB play and I mean a guy who can throw for about 220 a game. Complete 60% of his passes and make a play here and there, I think we can easily get to a bowl game. If that doesn't happen, we will struggle. Honestly, we could win anywhere from 3-8 games.

Most likely 5-7 with equal chance of going 6-6 or 4-8.

ok...i'll take a drink of the cardinal flavored kool-aid and say that this team wins 9 games, goes bowling, and hell doesn't freeze over.

a bit over the top? i think so, but we're CYCLONE fans and we should always...

Re: how many games will the cyclones win next fall?

I think that they find a way to go 6-6, but it won't be easy. All depends on the QB, though. We'll all be watching Jantz really hard this spring. I don't think that 6-6 is possible if Tiller is the guy.

I'll say that if Haughton finds his way back, 6-6 or better starts to look a lot more attainable. The running game would be tough to stop with him and KO playing next to each other.

Why is that? Texas losses a lot of experienced players on the O-line, defense, and IIRC their best WR. Game is also at Ames.

The turnover on the staff and roster may be a good thing for Texas, but they couldn't run the ball with the players they had in place last year, and Gilbert was an INT machine.

Im not going to flat out predict an ISU win here, but I think Texas needs a year to work their way back up the ladder before they get back to "that" level. This will be ISU's best chance in the foreseeable future to knock em off again.

We don't reminisce, we just keep playing Tecmo Bowl & R.B.I. Baseball! In-depth strategy guides, player attributes, team rankings, along with detailed recaps of our season play. These Nintendo classics are as entertaining now as the day they were released!

I'll say 6-6. I think the defense will step up and win a couple games we probably shouldn't. CPR seemed pretty excited about the battles for safety, receiver, and QB. Can't wait for the season to start.

THIS! I fully agree - we should have a really good shot at beating Texas. It's an early season game and they're rebuilding in both coaches and players. It's our "cardinal and golden" opportunity to knock them off two years in row. I live in Texas and was fortunate enough to be at that game last year - what fun! We beat them again this fall and I'll have lots of fun down here in the state of Texas wearing my I-State gear!
