    By Rob Howe

Jeez theft is theft. $2,000 isn't pocket change.

I wonder if this idiot would be writing this if it was his identity or his credit cards that these guys used to get all their bling.

It's a homer piece defending alleged felons. Nothing more.

My thoughts exactly. IMO...there is nothing lower than a thief. Someone who steals what someone else has worked hard for has no integrity and is the scum of scum!

Re: HN writers says give players one more chance.

Here is a link to my thought's on Rob's article:

    HawkeyeNation.com Forums

I don't think I want to see these two back in an Iowa uniform, but I enjoyed Rob's piece, and I am glad that he works for me. If you would have read his piece analyzing the Iowa offensive line from Saturday, you would not call him a homer.

He took the road less traveled here, and told me in advance he was writing it. I was eager to see what road he could possibly take.

The road he took was thought provoking, and if anything, brings light onto a big time problem in this country, that of drinking and driving and how it is viewed. People don't want to think of it in the same light as theft, because then they would have to look in the mirror, and we all know we don't like to do that.

I would be fine if players who were convicted of DUI were removed from Iowa's athletic teams, too. That was the main thought I took away from the article. In both instances, this theft and the DUI, I would be fine with permanent dismissal.

Also, I would appreciate it if people used links to items that appear on my site, as opposed to copying and pasting copyrighted materials. Ironically, that in and of itself is a form of theft.

I like your take on it better Jon. While we've gotten better, we're still a little too leniant on drinking and driving.

Sounds like EIU may need a chaplain.

Stealing several times to accumulate $2000, and SHOWING BRAG PICS ON FACEBOOK OF MONEY TOOK A LOT MORE DEVILISHNESS THAN A PLAYER WHO HITS SOMEONE WHEN THEY GET MAD. These two people just ripped off some nice elderly people.

That guy should represent Mike Vick. Yeah, drowning puppies is bad, but is it really any worse than drowning kittens? What kind of argument is that?

Maybe but it's not like "someone driving to the Ped Mall on a Friday night to drink knowing full well that hes going to get back behind the wheel when hes done?" so I think it makes it O.K. Judging from his article, Robbie is cool with theft anyways.

Uummmmm, I have to disagree here. And not because I think DUI is not serious, because it is. Where I disagree is what a person's intent is when he is committing a crime.

Anyone who drinks and drives is an idiot, bar none. I would agree that they should be kicked off the team. I drank and drove in my college and single days thereafter and by the grace of God, I never got into an accident or hurt anyone. It was never my intent to go drink until I knew I was too blitzed to even consider running a vehicle and then go looking to destroy peoples property and or hurt/kill someone. By stating this I am not making light of DUI's because it is bad news, but the drunk driver is not out purposely to destroy someones live or inflicting harm on someone or destroying their financial lives by doing what these idiots did.

These guys didn't just go out and hope they didn't get in an accident or hope they didn't hurt someone. They went out and did the act knowing full well what the impact of their actions would do to their victims and they could have cared less about it. Drunk drivers are idiots who were hoping they could get home without getting caught or in an accident. These guys went out intentionally trying to destroy someone so they could get their bling. How you could let Howe write this kind of crap has me totally baffled and to back him up on his article is about as stupid.

Wrong. The article was properly attributed.
