Pollard should hire him to the athletic department. Maybe the best Iowa State football player ever- next to Matt Blair.

Caplan notes Hobbs, always ready with a quote, could have a career in broadcasting if he wants it.
    That or coaching.

Bummer about Ellis. Hope he lands somewhere that he can still be the face of ISU.

    Re: Ellis Hobbs Retired

I hope, if he wants, that we find him a job here at ISU. Nothing better than having our guys come back and keep making an impact. He was great in college and the NFL, and now he has a chance to continue making an impact in the sport similar to when Hoiberg retired for health reasons.

Either way, best of luck to Ellis!

It's really too bad. I always really liked watching Hobbs play.

Good to see him taking care of himself. It'll be interesting to see if he gets back in coaching. He's a guy I'd love to see back in Ames.

We need to sign him up as a grad assisstant. Then whenever Wally retires we can shuffle around Bobby Elliott to linebackers and make Ellis the DB's coach.

    Re: Ellis Hobbs Retired

Loved Ellis. One of my all-time favorite Cyclone athletes. I'll never forget how crushed I was when he announced where he was from on MNF by mentioning his "DeLasalle High School" instead of ISU. I get it, and understand, but when he said ISU the next time instead of his high school I was so proud that the nation got to see that he was a Clone.

I wish him all the best, and hope that he comes back as a member of the staff in some way. I can only imagine how good he would be at interacting with recruits and players. He's a great man.
