    Furniture Question

Does anybody have any experience with Futura furniture? My wife and I have been looking for a new couch and love seat. We think we want to go leather and would like recliner units.

We found the Futura brand at McGreagors and our inital impressions were really positive. The only thing that gives me pause it's made in China, but the craftsmanship and quality seemed good to me.

Need to get it bought by tommorow to get a good price. Just curious if anybody else has bought and what your thoughts are?

    Re: Furniture Question

Bought a Futura couch and chair a year ago at Homemakers. So far so good. My wife runs an in-home daycare so it gets a ton of use between kids crawling on it and driving matchbox cars across it. The leather has been very durable and still looks great.

    Re: Furniture Question

Most furniture is now built in Asia now. Even North Korea shops us furniture.

Keep leather out of the sun window and watch for excess hair oil.

    Re: Furniture Question

Just as a general observation, some of the highest quality products come from China/Asia anymore. Just because it's made in China doesn't mean it's junk. For example, my employer gets higher quality steel/stainless/exotic metal castings out of China than anywhere else in the world.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

I have a Futura Sectional, ottoman, and two swivel leather chairs and they are incredible. The quality is amazing, it is the most comfortable furniture I've ever had.

Yes, it is made in China, and it can pose problems. When I bought mine, the chair was on backorder, and was not supposed to be here until April, I actually ended up getting it 2 months early, and then bought another chair just like it. I bought all mine at Homemakers. The folks at Homemakers told me Futura only ships furniture 4 times a year from overseas, so if the pieces you want aren't in stock, you may have to wait. They told me the furniture actually gets better with age as the leather gets broken in. Also, told me to make sure it is conditioned every 90 days.

I would tell you to buy it, I don't think you'll regret the purchase.

Does this sentence actually make sense?

    Re: Furniture Question

Thanks all. Just to clarify, I'm not anti Chinese from a quality standpoint as I know they have some good stuff. I just notice the quality can vary quite a bit depending on what you're buying.

Good to hear some people have been really pleased with Futura products.

I really wasn't intending on buying leather, but my wife told me her family had it as kids and it seemed to be really durable and comfortable. We've got 3 little kids, so want something that's going to stand up.

We've been looking for a while and just hadn't found anything that yelled "buy me" We sat in this set and my oh my was it comfortable and also had a decent price. Only hang up is we're having to special order the color and they're telling us 4 months. Oh well, we've gotten along for a long time with the furntiture we have now. 4 more months isn't going to hurt anything.
