Well, officially I get to move on now (I officially stopped caring about Vick weeks ago). Too bad my Falcons quarterback of the future currently resides with Joey Harrington... (too bad there's not a "throwing up" icon)

My guess is he'll get sentenced a year or two but they'll let him out early.

He will probably get the 18 months, and get out as soon as he serves 80%

The Sporting News is reporting a sentence of 18-36 months while the Washington Post is reporting one year.

The plea agreement will be subject to the judge's approval.

Hey I am Dolphins fan, at least you don't have to deal with Trent Green!

Back on subject, I like the idea of a lifetime ban from the NFL at least. Hopefully he will get sued in civil court and lose all his $$$.

He should play running back or db when he gets out.

As a Chiefs fan I'm wondering if we'd be better off with Green this year than Huard/Croyle as both have looked terrible in preseason.

As for Vick, I'd hate to be the team that takes on that PR nightmare if he ever plays in the NFL again.

Bad timing for the Falcons after they traded away Schaub (sp?).

Why ban him for life? If he admits he made a mistake and pays the penalty for it, he deserves a second chance.

Ray Lewis did far worse by not intervening when two of his acquaintances stabbed two people to death. All he got was a 15 day jail sentence and a $250,000 fine. Now he is back in the NFL with plenty of money and play time.

Make Vick serve his jail time, do lots of charity work, and make it up to people but he doesn't deserve to be banned from his profession.

Because the NFL takes gambling seriously. Not only is dogfighting illegal, but it's the illegal gambling that goes with it that makes this so severe. The NFL wants no questions asked about whether a guy known to be involved with gambling may be fixing games (it's a leap between the two, but it's what they're thinking). On the gambling precedent I wouldn't be surprised to see Vick gone permanently.

Nope, no second chances, he knew what he was doing, the only thing he is sorry for is he got caught. He has a second chance, when he gets out of jail he can go work at walmart or somewhere, but he lost his privledge to work in the NFL.

Besides gambling is one of the big no no's in the NFL.

You hit the nail on the head before I could. The NFL could probably be justified in banning him for life based on the illegal gambling alone. Then you factor in that he's a dog murderer

    I agree, no second chances.

The good news is little brother Marcus can offer some pointers about jail. Too bad for Mike he's going to Federal-PYITA-prison.
