    Here's Kirk's loophole on Douglas

“As is often the case in matters of this nature, I am aware of inconsistencies in what may or may not have taken place. We need to let the legal process run its course.” said the Kirk.

The man is a master. Hawks rule!

Bingo! I just posted this in the other thread. You have to hand it to Kirk, he's pretty slick. Douglas will skate the charges and be back for the ISU game. The media will conveniently not report about this incident pointing to the legal system running its course and all will be well at Teflon U.

My guess is that Dougie Fresh rolled on Bowman in exchange for a sweet deal. I'd be surprised if a member of Kirk's staff didn't suggest he do that.

    Just win, baby, just win!

If Alford were half as slick as Kirkie, who knows just how much trouble Pierce would have been in. These guys commit credit card fraud, FELONIES, and Ferret-face is going to do everything he can, including going out of his way to make sure that DD is back on the field this season. Unbelievable.

Now, Jon Miller has his talking points from Phil Haddy for today's show!

"Let the legal system run its course!" That's your new Iowa fight song.

Based on the way Iowa has handled past indiscretions of players, I would be shocked if DD isn't back in the lineup by the ISU game.

Re: Here's Kirk's loophole on Douglas

First off I'm just as guilty as some of jumping the gun and jumping on the Hawks when they have legal problems but some of you tend to look the other way that we let a convicted felon back on the team who eventually screwed up again and even then people thought he deserved another chance. How about Mike Taylor's problems, didn't see him sit out any big games for his problems. We've had just as many embarassing legal messes with players as the Hawks from time to time so let's see how this latest plays out before we start claiming they'll get a slap on the wrist.

I do love the quote in the feedback section where some Hawk fan talks about Kirk not being afraid of kicking off NFL-calibeer talent in Benny Sapp. Well gee, it took like 5 different times for Sapp to get in trouble before he finally did!

Actually it was Bob Bowlsby who made that decision.

It's going to come down to how much Kirk needs DD to win a game as to how long his suspension will last.

And we have not much room to talk about this after letting felon, who just got out of jail spend 5 minutes working his way up the depth charts.

Am I just missing something? This is Mike Taylor--basketball program--got in trouble in the off season and is now kicked off the team--never played a game for ISU (and never will again) once he had legal problems (or did he have 1 legal problem earlier and then the 2nd later?)?

He had the drunk driving charge prior to his arrival at ISU. IIRC

Re: Here's Kirk's loophole on Douglas

Well I am fairly certain that if Kirk's banking on a loophole to get Domy Dougy Doo back on his team does not work that Douglas and Bowman's loopholes might get fairly large.....
