    Poker Subscription Sites

Hey fellow fanatics, has anyone joined a poker subscription website? Basically you pay $19.95/ and you can play poker online and potentially win cash and entries to bigger tourneys. I joined one site for a month on a trial basis. Seemed like it was a pain to get into a tourney where you could win cash.

Internet poker is not technically illegal in Iowa. There are only a few states that have set laws making it a crime and many sites will not allow play from people from those states. Pretty sure no individuals have ever been prosecuted for internet poker in Iowa and I know many people who make their living playing online and pay taxes on their winnings.

From what I understand, it's technically not illegal to play. It's just "illegal" for your bank to cash the check if / when you cash out. That being said, i have a lot of friends who still play (I don't as I don't really have any time now that I have kids) and they have NEVER had a problem getting cashed out.

If you want juicy cash games, Bodog is the way to go. Stars or Full Tilt for tourneys.

None of my credit or debit cards are accepted at any of the sites. I used to play on betonusa.com.

You can link your bank account through a service provided by the website such as echeckus or others. Typically for payouts they will verify your account by making two small deposits in your account that you have to acknowledge the amounts. Linking the account for verification for payouts takes about a week but the payouts afterwards only take about forty eight hours. The services do keep around three percent of your withdrawals for their fee.

    Good luck.

    Re: Poker Subscription Sites

As said above, you can use a bank account linked through a payment processor (I would DEFINITELY create a new account for this -> I would never use one of my regular bank accounts just to be safe).

Or, what I did back in the day was go through Free Poker Money - Get up to $100 in free poker money with NO deposit! and get money deposited for free into my account. I then just took some time and "grinded it out" until I had a good chunk of change in the account (you'll have to start at lower levels as they don't give you a lot of money). Generally, whatever they say is the "free" amount -> divide it in half as the other is usually tied to playing so many raked hands -> which is almost impossible unless you add money of your own.
