Last year we heard about Seantrell Henderson. This time it's Jadeveon Clowney: not as dramatic as Henderson's story but it's funny to see how he spoke of Nick Saban. This guy is not academically eligible yet :)
When recruits go out with players until 1:30 or 2:30am what are they doing? Playing cards?
I love how he kept bringing up all the girls that jumped to football players and what not. Seems as if he is "really" dedicated to his academics.
Is that not what you do until that time??? I know that's what I do til that time any night of the week. It's not like college students would be partying and drinking or anything like that...
And about the girls he mentions all the time, I'm sure he did nothing with them. Why would any guy that has tons of girls throwing themselves at them do anything with them? That is not how college works at all...
I bet he could get some "tutoring" from someone while there too.
This was really dramaticized, he posted on CockyTalk (South Carolina message board) a few days before he signed saying "Lets ride" so it wasnt a shock to anyone. I think he postponed the signing because ESPN told him to anyway because he was going to South Carolina all along.
I do like it that Rumph said that Clemson can't win, that makes me laugh.
It'd be nice if all of our recruits were magically eligible.
The story is he did bad in some of his courses freshman and sophomore year. He's been doing fine since then and I think his SAT/ACT scores are fine. I dont think he was ever thought of as an academic risk it was just a new york times piece where they took potshots at him that started this.
Hopefully this kid doesn't go Booby Miles at South Carolina. I could see him completely missing the boat on what it takes to be a D-1 athlete. Hope I'm wrong but I was really unimpressed with his attitude from that article.
